But my ears perked up when I heard that otherwise healthy Canadian children have died as a result of the virus. Now I’m wondering if my kids and I are going to have to be social outcasts for the next four months.

Naptime usually signals for moms the chance to get a thing or two done: maybe shower, check e-mail, tidy, or read the newspaper. Occasionally, they take the opportunity to rest themselves. I had the most absolutely awesome nap yesterday, and part of the reason it was so outrageously perfect was because I had three cuddly, warm boys snuggled up with me.

Have you ever tried blogging while singing lullabyes at the same time? It’s much harder than it might sound, and way more challenging than doing the whole rub-your-tummy-while-you-pat-your-head thing. Why blog while you should be focusing solely on singing to your little one? Because if, like me, you botched sleep training and still have to sit in your two-year-old’s room while he falls asleep every night, you quickly learn that this 20-minute-or-so block is a great opportunity to write posts and catch up on e-mails. (Take it from me, pregnant women and new moms, what you do in the newborn stage with regard to your child's sleep patterns will affect you for years to come...)
